Wilsons Promontory

As those of you who have followed me on social networking, you will know I’m currently on a 6-week adventure. I am traveling with two ladies, one from Argentina and the other from Sweden. So far, they have made awesome travel companions. We are no finally in New South Wales at our first Couchsurfing host in Canberra. Today is also election day and for those who don’t know, Canberra is the capital of Australia. In a bit, the guy we are Couchsurfing with is taking us to Parliament and showing us around. He works in Parliament and can take us “back stage”. Should be very interesting.

Wilsons Prom

Wilsons Prom was one of the major things I’ve wanted to do since I was in Australia. It is a national park on a peninsula in the most southern tip of Australia. We stayed two nights and was able to explore most of the park. I can absolutely say it was the best way to start our trip from Melbourne. The ladies for the first time saw wombats up close. When I saw up close, I mean trying to get into the tent at 1am close. If you ever get the chance to go to Wilsons Prom, I would definitely take up this offer.

Lakes Entrance

Our second stop was Lakes Entrance, a fairly popular beach resort in the summer. Lakes Entrance is a pot in eastern Victoria where several of the Gippsland rivers and lakes connect out to the ocean. We had a free camping spot here which was pretty nice. I wish I took pictures here, but unfortunately, I did not.
