Global Eclipse Gathering

Global Eclipse Gathering

My Adventure

I was doing early entry till the second to last day of the festival. This meant I would be there for an entire week. My partner and I decided to rent a camper van from Wandervans for the week. This was probably the smartest decision we planned for the festival. We had somewhere safe to lock our belongings, a bed to sleep on, and the company provided us all the essential camping equipment needed.

Getting into the festival was an absolute disaster. I have participated in countless festivals around the world and nothing compared to the brutality of this festival. We had to wait over fourteen hours to enter the festival. I was very disappointed in this aspect of the festival. Early entry meant 14+ hours to wait and get in early Thursday.

My camping group was awesome. We became friends with some Canadians while waiting fourteen hours to get in. Luckily, we had some staff members save us a clutch camping spot on the corner of Sun and Milky Way. We had all the amenities we needed within walking distance. I am so grateful for this. I was able to see a lot of my Colorado family I left behind almost a year ago.

Favorite Experiences

There was so much going on at the festival that it was really hard to break down my favorite moments. I was blessed to meet so many new friends and make awesome memories with old friends. Some really cool stuff outside seeing the eclipse was:

  • Watching Alex and Allison Grey live painting
  • Android Jones interactive exhibit.
  • Meditation (my first group experience) workshops
  • Group photos with my shipfam friends.
